Fast Frames, Rich Colours: BenQ’s EW270Q Aims to Redefine the All-Round Gaming Monitor

BenQ has quietly dropped a new contender into India’s crowded monitor market — and it’s one that aims to please both gamers and everyday power users. The newly launched BenQ EW270Q is a 27-inch QHD display that brings together a buttery-smooth 200Hz refresh rate, rich colour reproduction, and surprisingly capable built-in audio, all without demanding a high-end graphics card to shine.

At first glance, the EW270Q ticks all the right boxes for modern setups. The 27-inch IPS panel runs at a crisp 2560×1440 (QHD) resolution, striking a sweet spot between Full HD and 4K. For gamers, the headline feature is the 200Hz refresh rate, paired with a 1ms GtG response time, ensuring fast-paced action feels fluid and responsive — whether you’re grinding competitive shooters or exploring open-world titles.

Visual quality is where BenQ leans into its display expertise. The EW270Q covers 90% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, delivering punchy colours that work just as well for content creation, streaming, or casual photo work. Adding to this is BenQ’s proprietary HDRi technology, which uses a built-in sensor to intelligently adjust brightness, contrast, and colour tones based on the ambient lighting in your room. The result? A more comfortable, balanced viewing experience without constantly tweaking settings.

Gaming-focused features haven’t been overlooked. Support for AMD FreeSync Premium helps eliminate screen tearing and stuttering, while dedicated tools like Game Color Mode and Light Tuner give players better visibility in dark scenes — a small but meaningful advantage during intense gameplay.

Interestingly, audio is another area where the EW270Q stands out. Unlike many monitors that treat speakers as an afterthought, BenQ includes dual 5W treVolo-tuned speakers. With six selectable audio modes, the sound is loud, clear, and immersive enough for casual gaming, movies, or even video calls — no external speakers required.

MSI has expanded its premium display lineup with the launch of two new 32-inch 4K QD-OLED gaming monitors

MSI has expanded its premium display lineup with the launch of two new 32-inch 4K QD-OLED gaming monitors — the MPG 322UR QD-OLED X24 and MAG 321UP QD-OLED X24 — focusing heavily on improved panel longevity, stronger surface protection, and more convincing black levels, even in well-lit environments.

What’s New in MSI’s Latest QD-OLED Displays

At the core of both monitors is Samsung’s fourth-generation QD-OLED panel, built on a five-layer Tandem OLED structure using EL 3.0 emissive materials. This updated panel design is engineered to deliver higher brightness efficiency while extending overall panel lifespan. To counter long-standing OLED concerns, MSI also integrates its A.I. Care Sensor, which dynamically manages screen usage to reduce burn-in risk.

DarkArmor Film: The Standout Upgrade

One of the most notable enhancements is MSI’s newly introduced DarkArmor film coating. This specialized layer significantly improves light absorption, helping the display maintain deep, inky blacks even under strong ambient lighting. According to MSI, black depth can appear up to 40% richer in bright rooms, while also eliminating the subtle purple or red hues that sometimes affect earlier QD-OLED panels.

Beyond visuals, the DarkArmor layer also boosts physical resilience. Screen hardness increases from 2H to 3H, translating to roughly 2.5× better scratch resistance, making the panels more durable for long-term daily use.

Performance and Display Capabilities

Both monitors are tuned for top-tier gaming and professional workloads, offering:

4K UHD resolution (3840 × 2160) on a large 32-inch canvas

Ultra-fast 240Hz refresh rate for smooth motion clarity

0.03ms GtG response time, virtually eliminating motion blur

VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black certification, delivering exceptional contrast and accurate highlights

Connectivity for Modern Setups

MSI equips both displays with next-generation I/O, including DisplayPort 2.1a, HDMI 2.1, and USB-C connectivity. Select configurations support up to 90W power delivery, allowing laptops and other devices to charge directly from the monitor.

Who These Monitors Are For

With their combination of cutting-edge QD-OLED panel technology, improved durability, and high refresh performance, MSI’s new 32-inch OLED offerings are clearly aimed at enthusiast gamers, streamers, and content creators who want uncompromising visuals without the typical OLED trade-offs.

What’s Really Going On With the PS5 Right Now (Late 2025)

Sony’s messaging around the PlayStation 5 has quietly shifted in 2025—from talking about a “current console” to positioning the PS5 as a long-term platform that will remain relevant well into the next decade.

Instead of rushing toward a hard generational reset, Sony is clearly signaling stability, ecosystem growth, and a slower transition toward PS6-era hardware.

PS5 Is Not Near the End — It’s at Its Peak

Sony has publicly clarified that the PS5 is only halfway through its lifecycle, pushing back against earlier assumptions that a next-gen handoff was imminent. Internal timelines now suggest:

Ongoing first-party and third-party support through at least 2030

Hardware refreshes and system updates instead of abrupt replacement

A longer overlap period once PS6 eventually arrives

This positions the PS5 more like a “base platform” than a traditional console generation.

2025’s Game Lineup Signals Confidence

Sony wouldn’t be committing major releases if the PS5 were winding down—and 2025’s lineup proves that point. High-profile titles scheduled or active during the year include:

Ghost of Yōtei (October 2025), one of Sony’s biggest narrative exclusives

Death Stranding 2, expanding Kojima Productions’ partnership with PlayStation

Borderlands 4, reinforcing third-party support

Helldivers 2, continuing strong live-service momentum

These aren’t filler releases—they’re system-selling projects.

December 2025 System Update: Small but Strategic

The December firmware update (version 25.08-12.40.00) wasn’t flashy, but it reflects Sony’s current priorities:

Cleaner messaging and communication features

Subtle UI and usability refinements

Stability improvements for long-term performance

Rather than reinventing the interface, Sony appears focused on polishing the experience users already rely on daily.

Sony’s Bigger Shift: Platforms Over Consoles

Perhaps the most important change isn’t technical—it’s philosophical.

Sony is no longer treating the PS5 as a standalone box. Instead, it’s becoming part of a broader PlayStation ecosystem that spans:

Console (PS5 and eventually PS6)

PC releases for first-party titles

Cloud and remote play

Rumored handheld and companion devices

This explains the increased willingness to bring PlayStation exclusives to PC while still keeping consoles central to the brand.

How to Stay Ahead of PS5 News

For real-time updates and official announcements, Sony is increasingly using:

PlayStation Blog for deep dives and feature breakdowns

Official PlayStation social and video channels for reveals

Major gaming outlets for embargoed previews and hands-on reports

News drops are more frequent—but also more fragmented—so following official PlayStation channels is now essential.

Processor (CPU): The "brain" of the PC. For gaming, a balance of high clock speed and sufficient cores (like an Intel Core i5 or AMD Ryzen 5) is usually ideal.

Graphics Card (GPU): Arguably the most crucial part for gaming performance, as it handles 3D rendering and determines frame rates and resolution. Spend a significant portion of your budget here for the best results.

Motherboard: The central circuit board that connects all parts. Ensure it has the correct socket type for your CPU and supports modern technologies like DDR5 RAM and PCIe 5.0.

Memory (RAM): Essential for multitasking and game loading. 16GB is the recommended minimum for gaming in 2025, with 32GB being ideal for future-proofing.

Storage: A Solid-State Drive (SSD), preferably an NVMe M.2 SSD, is vital for fast boot times and game loading speeds. A secondary, larger Hard Disk Drive (HDD) can be added for bulk storage if needed.

Power Supply Unit (PSU): A reliable PSU with enough wattage (typically 650W-850W for most builds) is crucial for stability. Fully modular PSUs offer easier cable management.

Case: Houses all components and affects airflow and aesthetics. Look for cases with good ventilation (mesh fronts are better than glass) and cable management features.

CPU Cooler: Needed to manage CPU temperatures. Options include air coolers and All-in-One (AIO) liquid coolers.

The expanded B850 Series is engineered for gamers, creators, and PC

Colorful Technology Company Limited, a leading brand in gaming PC components, gaming laptops, and HiFi audio products, today announced three new additions to its B850 motherboard family: the CVN B850M ARK FROZEN, BATTLE-AX B850M-PLUS S WIFI7, and COLORFIRE B850M-MEOW WIFI7. These new models bring enhanced power delivery, upgraded connectivity, and signature COLORFUL design identities to meet the performance needs of next-generation AMD Ryzen processors.

The expanded B850 Series is engineered for gamers, creators, and PC enthusiasts seeking powerful performance and distinctive visual design. A key highlight of this launch is the much-anticipated COLORFIRE MEOW Series motherboard for AMD Ryzen users, now built on the AMD B850 chipset and refreshed with a new white color scheme, cat-inspired accents, and the playful MEOW aesthetic that defines the series.

Each of the new B850 motherboards delivers robust support for AMD Ryzen 7000, 8000, and 9000 Series processors, high-speed DDR5 memory, and advanced thermal and aesthetic designs unique to their respective product lines.

COLORFIRE B850M-MEOW WIFI7 brings the signature MEOW aesthetic to the B850 lineup with a warm white painted heatsink armor and an iridescent nameplate featuring the minimalist MEOW logo. This model includes a custom BIOS themed after the MEOW series, adding a playful personality to technical system controls.

It features a 10+2+1 (55 A) power phase design, four DDR5 alloy memory slots, and a 5G + Wi-Fi 7 gaming network solution, allowing users to switch effortlessly between casual "cyber cat" computing and high-performance gaming.

Key Features

Custom frost heatsinks with full-cover condenser for improved cooling.

Custom MEOW-themed BIOS UI

10+2+1 enhanced power phase design with 55 A DrMOS and F.C.C ferrite chokes.

One PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 slot plus one PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 slot.

Rear USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C (5 Gbps) and USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A (10 Gbps) high-speed ports.

Realtek 5G LAN + WiFi 7 with Bluetooth 5.4.

iGame Center lighting control support for radiator, fan, and memory effects.

Rear I/O one-click BIOS upgrade support.

Colorful has unveiled two new motherboards in its CVN series — the B850 “Battle-Ax” and “Meow” models — as part of its growing AM5 product stack. These boards are built around the B850 chipset and are compatible with AM5 socket CPUs from the Ryzen 7000 lineup and likely future Zen-based processors. By introducing these models, Colorful addresses a segment of the market that may not require high-end motherboards but still wants stable AM5 compatibility and modern platform essentials.

The “Battle-Ax” and “Meow” boards represent a tiered approach to AM5 motherboards. Rather than offering only high-end and feature-heavy boards, Colorful provides scaled options so that builders can match motherboard capabilities with system needs — whether a simple desktop, a budget gaming rig, or a capable mid-range build. Key differentiators likely include power delivery robustness, connectivity (USB, PCIe, storage), and design/style orientation, giving flexibility to choose what matters most for your build.

COLORFUL has expanded its AMD B850 motherboard lineup with three new models aimed at supporting “next-generation AMD Ryzen processors.” Hard to say if this is indeed a hint of what’s to come or simply something lost in translation, but the three models introduced today include CVN B850M ARK FROZEN, BATTLE-AX B850M-PLUS S WIFI7, and COLORFIRE B850M-MEOW WIFI7, each with different aesthetic approach and feature set.

The COLORFIRE B850M-MEOW WIFI7 extends the feline-themed MEOW lineup to the B850 platform, adopting a white color scheme with cat-inspired elements and a custom BIOS user interface. This micro-ATX motherboard uses a 10+2+1 stage VRM rated at 55A per stage, along with 5GbE LAN and Wi-Fi 7 for connectivity. The model also supports PCIe 5.0 and PCIe 4.0 M.2 storage, along with system lighting control through iGame Center, while offering one-click BIOS updates via the rear I/O.

The second model is the COLORFUL CVN B850M ARK FROZEN, positioned for users requiring stronger overclocking capability – it featuring a more robust 14+2+1 stage VRM with 80A DrMOS power, along with a hardware clock generator for base clock (BCLK) overclocking. It offers memory overclocking support up to DDR5-8400 speeds, and includes three M.2 slots plus four SATA ports for storage expansion. Connectivity is provided through 2.5GbE LAN, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4, complemented by a front USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C port with 30W power delivery.

Finally, the COLORFUL BATTLE-AX B850M-PLUS S WIFI7 introduces a revised black heatsink design with a layered, angular appearance, but are otherwise the same as the COLORFIRE MEOW model: this means it gets the same 55A 10+2+1 stage VRM, PCIe 5.0 and PCIe 4.0 M.2 support, 5GbE LAN and Wi-Fi 7 with Bluetooth 5.4 for connectivity. Like the other models, it supports lighting adjustments through iGame Center and provides a one-click BIOS update on the rear I/O.

Pokdepinion: Another motherboard with external clock generator – I suppose this is where AMD motherboard development are heading next.

The arrests mark a significant escalation in the government’s scrutiny of India’s online gaming industry

Kaspersky reports that in 2025, cybercriminals continued to use seasonal shopping periods to distribute phishing pages and fraudulent promotions aimed at collecting personal and payment information. Gaming platforms also remained a prominent target throughout the year, a press release said.

Kaspersky Security Network (KSN) reports that from January through October 2025 it blocked 6,394,854 phishing attempts impersonating online stores, banks and payment systems, with 48.2% targeting online shoppers. Over the same period, the company identified more than 20 million attempted attacks on gaming platforms, including 18.56 million abusing Discord. Black Friday-related spam remained a major driver: in the first two weeks of November, Kaspersky detected 146,535 spam emails mentioning seasonal sales, including 2,572 tied to Single’s Day. Many reused templates from previous years and impersonated Amazon, Walmart and Alibaba. Phishing abusing entertainment platforms also surged, with 801,148 Netflix-themed and 576,873 Spotify-related attempts recorded in 2025.

Threats extended beyond e-commerce to gaming systems such as Steam, PlayStation and Xbox, with 2,054,336 phishing attempts detected. Malware disguised as gaming software also rose significantly to 20,188,897 attempted infections, with Discord representing 18,556,566 detections, more than 14 times higher than in 2024.

Technical Breakdown: How Attacks Unfold

Phishing and financial scams were among the most impactful threats observed. Kaspersky’s telemetry shows that 48.2% of shopping-related attacks targeted online shoppers, a notable increase from last year.

These campaigns involve convincing fake websites that mimic well-known stores, payment pages, and even banking interfaces.

Attackers use cloned designs, realistic-looking spam emails, and enticing Black Friday discounts to trick users into giving up personal credentials or payment information.

Amazon-themed phishing attacks peaked at over 600,000 attempts, while other major brands like Alibaba, eBay, and Walmart also saw thousands of impersonation campaigns.

In addition to retail platforms, cybercriminals targeted subscription-based services such as Netflix and Spotify, exploiting their popularity during sales periods.

Staggering Attack Numbers Revealed

Between January and October 2025, Kaspersky identified nearly 4 million phishing attacks targeting users of online stores, payment systems, and banks. The findings paint a concerning picture of the current threat landscape:

48.21% of financial phishing attacks targeted online shoppers, up significantly from 37.5% in 2024.

Over 146,000 Black Friday-themed spam messages were blocked in just the first two weeks of November.

More than 2 million phishing attacks specifically targeted online gaming platforms.

Approximately 1.09 million banking Trojan attacks were recorded during the 2025 Black Friday season.

Gaming platform attacks surged to over 20 million attempts, with Discord-disguised attacks increasing 14-fold year-over-year.

The arrests mark a significant escalation in the government’s scrutiny of India’s online gaming industry, which has been under the scanner for alleged tax evasion, dubious payment flows, and compliance failures. Both WinZO and Gameskraft have previously faced regulatory challenges, including GST disputes and questions over the legality of their gaming formats.

The ED is expected to summon additional executives and financial partners as the investigation widens. Meanwhile, the arrests have sent shockwaves across the booming real-money gaming sector, raising concerns about tighter regulations and increased enforcement action in the months ahead.

We may anticipate Xbox Cloud Gaming and PlayStation’s cloud gaming services to expand to India

At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this year, NVIDIA unveiled several new products including the much-anticipated RTX 5000 series gaming GPUs, an AI model to train robots, a new desktop computer, and DLSS 4, its next-gen upscaling technology. To make gaming more accessible, the company also announced that it would soon be setting up a GeForce RTX-powered data centre and expanding its popular GeForce Now cloud gaming service to India.

In case you are wondering, GeForce Now is a cloud gaming service powered by NVIDIA’s RTX graphic cards, which allows gamers to enjoy the latest games without having to invest in expensive hardware.

Why locally built servers make the wait worthwhile

The infrastructure buildout addresses cloud gaming's biggest pain point: lag. By housing servers on Indian soil rather than routing traffic through distant data centers, Nvidia is targeting seamless, high-fidelity streaming that can handle demanding AAA titles without the sluggish response times that plague overseas connections.

This delay continues a pattern of missed deadlines. Nvidia first teased GeForce Now's India return at CES 2025 in January, promising availability in the first half of the year.

Jason Paul, vice president of GeForce Platform Technology, also listed upcoming games supporting ray tracing and DLSS 4, including Resident Evil Requiem, Borderlands 4, Pragmata, Cinder City, and Phantom Blade Zero.

RTX 50 Series Borderlands 4 Bundle and RTX Hair

Elsewhere, Nvidia revealed a Borderlands 4 bundle for RTX 50 series cards, launching September 12. Customers who buy an RTX 5070 or higher before September 22 will get the game plus the Gilded Glory Pack DLC. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will also be updated with RTX Hair technology in September.

Market insights:

Cloud gaming, or game streaming, allows users to play high-quality video games on any device without needing expensive hardware, as games run on remote servers and stream over the internet. In India, the cloud gaming market is set for rapid growth between 2025 and 2030, driven by expanding 5G networks, increasing internet penetration, and a gaming population expected to exceed 600 million. Platforms like JioGamesCloud, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and Nvidia GeForce Now are entering the space, supported by telecom giants such as Reliance Jio and Airtel.

Pricing, device compatibility, and game availability

GeForce NOW will offer memberships at global prices—around $19.99/month for Ultimate and $9.99/month for Performance, with local pricing expected to match.

Gamers can look forward to streaming in crisp 5K at 120fps and a huge library of over 4,500 titles thanks to the new Install-to-Play feature.

Popular games like Borderlands 4 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will be optimized for GeForce NOW at launch, with support for handhelds, LG TVs, monitors, and Macs—broadening device compatibility for Indian gamers.

Having said that, some Jio users can already access GeForce Now through JioGamesCloud. An employee of Jio appears to have confirmed that the company is working with Nvidia to introduce GeForce Now to the nation. While GeForce Now appears to be only available to a small group of gamers with a set-top box, JioGamesCloud is accessible to all Jio users. We can only hope that Jio will soon provide further clarification on this.

We may anticipate Xbox Cloud Gaming and PlayStation’s cloud gaming services to expand to India when GeForce Now gradually expands there. GeForce Now’s performance in India, especially with regard to latency, remains to be seen. There was some lag seen by users of the JioGamesCloud beta. The service is still in early access, so improvements are anticipated over the next few months.
