ASUS Republic of Gamers groundbreaking step into spatial gaming displays.

ASUS Republic of Gamers has unveiled the ROG XREAL R1, a groundbreaking step into spatial gaming displays. These are the world’s first 240Hz Full HD micro-OLED gaming glasses, designed to bring large-screen, high-refresh-rate gaming into a lightweight, wearable form factor. Developed in collaboration with XREAL, a global leader in consumer AR eyewear, the R1 reflects ROG’s vision of delivering uncompromised gaming experiences beyond traditional monitors.

ROG has long covered every display size imaginable—from compact portable screens to massive 65-inch monitors—and the XREAL R1 extends that legacy into augmented reality gaming. The glasses are engineered to work seamlessly with PCs, gaming consoles, and the ROG Ally handheld, turning any location into a personal gaming arena.

Designed for the ROG Ecosystem

At the heart of the ROG XREAL R1 experience is the ROG Control Dock, which enables desktop-class connectivity in a wearable device. With DisplayPort 1.4 and dual HDMI 2.0 ports, users can switch effortlessly between a PC and consoles with a single input change.

For handheld gamers, the R1 connects directly to the ROG Ally via USB-C, instantly projecting an enormous virtual screen of up to 171 inches. The setup is fully plug-and-play, requiring no software configuration, while still allowing users to interact with the Ally’s touchscreen normally. Screen size, distance, and positioning can be adjusted on the fly using onboard controls powered by the integrated X1 spatial co-processing chip.

Despite its capabilities, the ROG XREAL R1 remains highly portable, weighing just 91 grams, making it suitable for gaming on the move.

Ultra-Smooth Visual Performance

The ROG XREAL R1 delivers an immersive viewing experience with a 57-degree field of view, covering most of the user’s focused vision. The virtual display appears as large as a 171-inch screen viewed from four meters away, offering cinematic scale without physical constraints.

Performance is a key highlight. With a 240Hz refresh rate and 3ms motion-to-photon latency, the glasses ensure ultra-smooth visuals with minimal motion blur, ideal for fast-paced competitive gaming. Native 3 Degrees of Freedom (3DoF) tracking allows players to anchor the screen in a fixed position within their physical environment or keep it centered on their view, depending on preference.

Smart Transparency and Immersive Audio

The ROG XREAL R1 features electrochromic lens technology that dynamically adjusts transparency based on user focus. When the wearer looks away from the virtual display, the lenses become more transparent, improving environmental awareness. Looking back at the screen triggers automatic tinting for better contrast and immersion. Users can also manually select from three dimming levels to match different lighting conditions.

Audio is handled by Sound by Bose, delivering spatially rich sound with impressive clarity. From directional footsteps to explosive effects, the audio design enhances situational awareness and deepens immersion without the need for external headphones.

Availability

The ROG XREAL R1 is scheduled for global availability in the first half of 2026. ASUS will showcase the device at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, with demos available at the ASUS ROG booth at The Venetian and selected XREAL locations. Pricing and launch details for India will be announced at a later date.
