Infosys has taken a decisive step
toward reshaping enterprise operations by announcing a deep strategic
collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), aimed at accelerating the
real-world adoption of generative artificial intelligence across global
organizations. Rather than positioning generative AI as a standalone technology
experiment, the partnership focuses on embedding AI directly into the core of
enterprise workflows—where it can deliver measurable productivity gains, faster
innovation cycles, and more intelligent decision-making.
At the heart of this initiative is
the convergence of Infosys Topaz, the company’s AI-first portfolio of services,
platforms, and solutions, with Amazon Q Developer, AWS’s generative AI-powered
assistant designed to support software engineering and enterprise development
tasks. Together, these technologies are being used not only to modernize
client-facing solutions but also to transform Infosys’ own internal operations
at scale.
Reimagining the Enterprise from the
Inside Out
Infosys is deploying Topaz across
multiple internal functions, signaling a shift from experimental AI pilots to
organization-wide transformation. Key business areas such as software
development, human resources, recruitment, sales enablement, and vendor management
are being redesigned with AI at their core.
One of the most significant impacts
is being seen in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). By integrating
Infosys Topaz with Amazon Q Developer, development teams gain access to
intelligent automation across multiple stages of the lifecycle. This includes
automated generation of technical documentation, contextual code
recommendations, real-time debugging assistance, intelligent testing support,
and accelerated modernization of legacy systems.
The result is a development
environment where engineers can focus more on design, architecture, and
innovation, while routine and time-consuming tasks are handled by AI. This not
only improves accuracy and speed but also enhances developer experience—an
increasingly critical factor in attracting and retaining top technical talent.
Driving Industry-Specific Innovation
Beyond internal efficiency, the
Infosys–AWS collaboration is designed to unlock new value for clients across
industries such as manufacturing, telecommunications, financial services,
consumer goods, and media and entertainment. By combining Infosys’ deep domain
expertise with AWS’s scalable generative AI infrastructure, enterprises can
deploy solutions that are both industry-aware and cloud-native.
A notable example is in sports and
entertainment, where Infosys is leveraging generative AI capabilities through
Amazon Bedrock alongside Infosys Topaz. These solutions enable advanced
end-user engagement models, delivering real-time, personalized experiences to
millions of fans globally. From dynamic content generation to tailored fan
interactions, the focus is on creating immersive digital experiences that
evolve continuously based on user behavior and preferences.
A Strategic View from Leadership
Commenting on the collaboration,
Sandeep Dutta, President, AWS India and South Asia, highlighted that Infosys is
demonstrating how generative AI can be adopted responsibly and effectively at
enterprise scale. He emphasized that the combined power of Amazon Q and Infosys
Topaz enables organizations to move faster, operate with greater agility, and
extract differentiated value from AI investments—while still addressing the
unique operational and regulatory requirements of global industries.
From Infosys’ perspective, the
collaboration represents a fundamental shift in how enterprise value is
created. Balakrishna D. R. (Bali), Executive Vice President and Global Services
Head for AI and Industry Verticals at Infosys, noted that integrating Amazon Q
Developer with Infosys Topaz is transforming not only development cycles but
also traditionally complex functions such as HR, recruitment, and vendor
ecosystems. According to him, the goal is to build an AI-first enterprise
environment that augments human capability rather than replacing it—allowing
organizations to navigate their next phase of transformation with speed,
confidence, and precision.
