National ai strategy in India by Kaspersky

Kaspersky, in partnership with the United Services Institution of India (USI) and the AI Knowledge Consortium (AIKC), held a high-level strategic roundtable to explore how artificial intelligence is redefining India's cybersecurity landscape and to strengthen national AI security and resilience.

Held in New Delhi, the roundtable was a pre-summit event for the India-AI Impact Summit 2026, focusing on "Trusted and Resilient AI". Discussions focused on key areas, including enhancing AI threat detection and improving sectoral readiness through standardized frameworks. Experts from government, defence, and industry emphasized the need for integrated cooperation to protect India's AI systems. Notable participants included Heng Lee from Kaspersky, Admiral Mohit Gupta from the Defence Cyber Agency, Brigadier M. M. Ramachandra from the National Security Council Secretariat, and Col. Nikhil Sinha from the Unique Identification Authority of India.

Maj Gen (Dr) Pawan Anand, AVSM (Retd), Head of the Centre for Emerging Technologies for Atma Nirbhar Bharat, USI, moderated the roundtable. The keynote address was delivered by Heng Lee, Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy for Asia Pacific at Kaspersky. “AI is transforming India’s digital economy, and securing these systems is essential to unlocking their full potential. Today’s roundtable brought together leaders who are collectively shaping India’s digital trajectory, and the message is clear: AI security must be a core pillar of national resilience.” said Heng Lee.   

The roundtable featured senior experts from government, defence, and industry, including Admiral Mohit Gupta VSM (Retd), Defence Cyber Agency; Brigadier M. M. Ramachandra, Director at the National Security Council Secretariat; and Col. Nikhil Sinha, Director at the Unique Identification Authority of India.
