OnePlus Pad Go 2: A Budget-Friendly Tablet for Students and Professionals

OnePlus has introduced the OnePlus Pad Go 2, a new mid-tier tablet aimed at students and young professionals, offering premium features without breaking the bank. Building on the success of the 2023 OnePlus Pad Go, it's set for public release on December 18.

Key Highlights from OnePlus Leadership

Robin Liu, CEO of OnePlus India, emphasized the tablet's value: "The original Pad Go showed that affordable tablets can deliver top-tier capabilities, and the Pad Go 2 elevates that further. Features like stylus support, a top-notch screen, and robust battery life bring premium quality to the budget segment, and we're eager for users to try it out."

Display and Visual Experience

At the heart of the Pad Go 2 is a 12.1-inch (30.73 cm) display engineered for immersion. Its 7:5 aspect ratio and 88.5% screen-to-body ratio ensure comfortable viewing and writing without constant zooming. With 284 pixels per inch (PPI), 98% DCI-P3 color gamut, and 900 nits peak brightness, it excels in media consumption. Dolby Vision support enhances video playback, while TÜV Rheinland Intelligent Eye Care 4.0 certification promotes eye comfort during extended use.

Performance and Multitasking

The tablet integrates OnePlus's Open Canvas software for seamless multitasking, enabling split-screen mode and easy window switching. This makes it ideal for productivity tasks like note-taking or creative projects.

Battery and Charging

Powering the device is a massive 10,050 mAh battery, a significant upgrade from the previous model's 8,000 mAh, allowing for extended usage between charges—perfect for on-the-go scenarios. It charges via 33W SUPERVOOC technology for quick top-ups.

Stylus Innovation

OnePlus unveiled the compatible OnePlus Pad Go 2 Stylo, the first stylus for the Pad Go series. Designed for precise note-taking and artistic work, it features rapid charging: just 10 minutes from 0% provides enough power for half a day's use.

Design Notes

While the aesthetics have shifted from the standout green of the original Pad Go to a more understated look reminiscent of the OnePlus Nord 5, this is a small trade-off. Overall, the Pad Go 2 stands out as a compelling mid-range option.

The OnePlus Pad Go 2 launches alongside the OnePlus 15R on December 17, with sales starting December 18. For the latest tech updates, consider subscribing to relevant newsletters. This tablet redefines affordability, blending high-end specs with practicality for everyday users.
