Roadmap highlights :
The IESA-SEMI roadmap emphasises the importance of
establishing UP in India’s growth story by focusing on advancements in semiconductor design and
cutting-edge electronics manufacturing. To realise this vision, the association
has outlined key recommendations in the roadmap encompassing the followings:
Global and India semiconductor trends and the hundreds of billion-dollar opportunities now opening for India.
UP’s current ecosystem strengths including design centres,
EMS base, components potential, and growing GCC presence.
High-impact opportunity areas for UP in manufacturing, chip
design, ATMP/OSAT, strategic electronics and advanced components.
Key recommendations on Product Creation, workforce
development, startup acceleration, GCC expansion, supply-chain , and enabling
policies under ISM, PLI, DLI,ECMS for design and manufacturing step up.
A collaborative engagement model where IESA and SEMI will
support the State in investoroutreach, policy refinement, and industry
mobilization.
During the day, Mr. Ashok Chandak and Mr. Vivek Tyagi held an engaging one-on-one meeting with the Hon’ble Minister for Electronics & IT, Shri Sushil Kumar Sharma, during which key areas for future collaboration and follow-up actions were identified. Shri Sushil Pal, Joint Secretary, MeitY, highlighted the current status of the ESDM sector and outlined ongoing government initiatives that are accelerating industry growth, during an insightful fireside chat at the summit.
