BPL’s new OT charting software

BPL Medical Technologies, India’s leading medical equipment brand with a 50-year legacy under the BPL Group, has launched its latest innovations in critical-care technology at ISACON 2025. The newly introduced portfolio includes the ExcelSign E12 and E17 modular patient monitors and the Relife 1000 biphasic defibrillator. The focus was on BPL’s new OT charting software, designed to support hospitals in strengthening preparedness across ICUs, operating rooms, and emergency departments. A part of their digital solutions portfolio, the OT charting software was well received by eminent representatives from the industry.

The event saw 2,500 participants, and the new portfolio of BPL equipment was unveiled in the presence of eminent clinicians and distinguished guests: Dr. Bala Venkat, executive director – head of SG Wealth & Retail Banking Data Analytics, Standard Chartered; Dr. Pradeep Sharma, doctor, Shrikrishan Dev Clinic, Una; Dr. Ganga Chakra Rao Abbireddy, pharmacy technician, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories; Dr. Kameshwar Rao Modekurti, associate professor, IBS Hyderabad (IFHE); Dr. Kuchelababu Vankineni, director, SevenHils Hospital; and Dr. Prabhakar Tallamraju, director, UP Rural Institute of Medical Sciences, Saifai, Etawah. They appreciated the enhanced capabilities and clinical focus integrated into the new solutions.

The BPL presentation drew strong interest from attendees, with over 200 visitors engaging with the company’s showcase across the event. Many clinicians spent time exploring the newly launched ExcelSign E12/E17 patient monitoring systems, noting their clarity of display, ease of navigation, and the practical usefulness of their modular configuration across ICUs, OTs and emergency settings. The Relife 1000 defibrillator also attracted steady attention, particularly among emergency-care teams who were keen on its guidance features and portability for rapid-response situations. One of the most discussed additions, however, was the newly introduced OT charting software, which several visitors described as a timely digital solution that could simplify intra-operative documentation and strengthen data continuity within operating rooms.

Sharing his perspective on the industry impact, Mr Guruswamy Krishnamurthy, CEO of BPL Medical Technologies, remarked, “Industry-academia partnerships drive innovation globally, and this collaboration marks a pivotal shift for BPL from trading to product development and manufacturing. Leveraging MAHE’s world-class testing facilities and clinical expertise will accelerate our journey to deliver practical, affordable medical devices for India and similar markets across the world.”

Dr Giridhar P Kini, Registrarof MAHE, and Mr Guruswamy Krishnamurthy, CEO of BPL Medical Technologies, officially exchanged the MoU. Key dignitaries, including Dr Ranjan R Pai, President of MAHE and Chairman of Manipal Education and Medical Group, Dr H S Ballal, Pro-Chancellor, Lt Gen (Dr) M D Venkatesh, VSM (Retd.), Vice Chancellor, and senior leadership from both institutions, attended the signing ceremony.

With 14 regional offices and a network of over 500 professionals, BPL Medical Technologies has one of the widest reaches in the Indian Medtech space. The company is now focusing on investing more in research and development, while also expanding its presence in both hospitals and homecare.

As part of this plan, BPL MedTech is working on adding AI features directly into its X-ray machines. This will allow the machines to provide smart diagnosis even in remote areas without internet access, helping more people get the care they need, wherever they are. With these efforts, BPL MedTech aims to make advanced healthcare more accessible, affordable, and truly inclusive.
